Topic: 1970 Van Der Graaf Generator Songs Posted: May 07 2013 at 13:44 |
In 1970, Van Der Graaf Generator took their place at the forefront of a new style called Prog Rock. Which of these songs from their 1970 albums, "The Least We Can Do is Wave to Each Other" and "H to He, Who Am the Only One" are your favorites?
This is a multiple vote poll, so be sure to vote for all your favorites.

^ Crap, I didn't read the OP in its entirety again. ... But then again, methinks, so did a few other people ... but I may be wrong. 1. "Lost" 2. "The Emperor in his War Room" (3. Would have been "Killer" has it not been for the lyrical amateur hour on Pete's part.)

Top 3 would be White Hammer, followed by Darkness (11/11) and Pioneers Over C.

A drummer I was in a prog band with back in '78 knew I was a Fripp-nut so he turned me onto "The Emporer in his War Room". From that time VDGG has been one of my fave bands.
For this poll it's easier to list what songs I didn't vote for: Out of My Book & Killer

I absolutely love Out of My Book - my 3rd favorite on the album, right behind Darkness and Refugees.

There are many I like there, but the one I like most is Darkness. Really awsome and emotional song.

Also, I hate "White Hammer" with a white-hot intensity. "Whatever Would Robert Have Said" seems pretty bad to me too.
