Well just watch your back the next time you visit the belly-bottom of the world aka DenmarkAngryLOL

Seriously though, I'd probably rate it 3.5-4 depending on how much I wish to infuse originality and pioneering skills into my verdict. First and foremost: It's a fun album.

Fair enough.

I'd like to find some nice new Krautrock to listen to. Any recs? Not to keen on the jammier, more clearly psych-rock styles of the sub, but something freer and more eclectic - Battiato-esque, preferably, but that continues to be a tall order Unhappy.

I'll marinade in that Linus. Promise to get back to yaSmile

Here are some recs Linus, but just remember that most Krautrock tends to be psychedelic in one way or anotherSmile
Perhaps try some French music that'll have your granny climbing the wallsLOL There's something of a Battiato vibe to this band, albeit in a more convoluted manner(that's not necessarily a bad thing though): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=obQp7Zrpk4Y
You could try out some slightly Canterbury flavoured Krautrock with Nosferatu. I particularly dig this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j7Xb1ad4qEs
What about Brainticket? This is one of my fave Krautrock songs: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFO_WNBl7G0
Have you ever tried NEU!? Their 75 album is a pretty diverse thing with nods to punk, post-punk and Bowie(or is that the other way round?): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qYeVvp8sdmg
In keeping with the post-punk thang, then it's almost impossible to get around L.A. Düsseldorf(be warned though, this is highly simple music, but there's so much more happening when you first get into the thing): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ID4LcHzb4jA
For a more "structured" album that hits on every cylinder, you may want to check out Amon Düül ll's masterpiece Wolf City. It's psychedelic, but also highly eclectic. Just have a listen to thisLOL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHLXUw6NOfE
Hmmm have you investigated your fellow countrymen Älgarnas Trädgård yet? Both of their albums are highly recommendable imho. Sure there's some psych in there, but we're talking Krautrock eh - but still you get far more on your plate than the obvious jam band thang - such as avant, folk and some fusion.

Wow that turned out way more elaborate than what I'd plannedLOL
