Topic: Frank Zappa Vocal Contributors Posted: July 23 2013 at 15:43
Over the years, many have taken a turn at the mic for Frank Zappa. From full blown vocalists to oddball's who contributed "vocal artifacts", they've all become part of the history of the 20th century phenomenon simply known as "Zappa".
This is a multiple choice poll, so vote for all your favourite vocal contributors to the Frank Zappa legacy.

Either Ray White or Bobby Martin. I'm going with Ray, since Bobby isn't on the list.

I do like the man's vocals. Napoleon Murphy Brock is a pretty close second.

First vote for Ike Willis, because he is the man.
Honorable mention to Louie the Turkey. I'm one of those people who just loves to hear him laugh.

And my third vote is for Terry Bozzio, for turning "Tryin' to Grow a Chin" into an unforgettable rock experience.

Oops...my bad. I meant to type "Bobby Martin" but entered "Bobby White" by mistake. It's now corrected...it is a multiple choice poll so vote for both!

Besides the usual suspects (FZ, Ray White & Napoleon) I voted for:
Captain Beefheart : "The Grand Wazoo", "I'm a Band Leader" (The Lost Episodes)
Bobby Martin : "Stevie's Spanking", "Teen Age Prostitute" (live)
Scott Thunes : "Tryin' to Grow a Chin" ('81 Halloween show)
Terry Bozzio : "Tryin' to Grow a Chin" & "Punky's Whips" (Lather)
Flo & Eddie : "Do You Like My New Car?/Happy Together" (I know it' gross and 7th grade humor, but I can't help myself)
George Duke : "Smell My Beard"
Ricky Lancelotti : "Wonderful Wino"
Johnny Guitar Watson - "In France"
Lisa Popeil - "Teenage Prostitute", "Lisa's Life Story" (live)
Moon - "Valley Girl"
Herman Kretschmar - "Welcome to the United States", "Master Ringo"
I just could not bring myself to vote for Louis the turkey...the guy drives me nuts

Hey thanks for letting me know. The guy is such a talent. And I can't help but smile when I think of his opening words on Punk's Whips, priceless.

Hey he's not even an option.
I guess he doesn't actually sing. Isn't he on other Zappa tunes too ?

He also does the spoken intro to "The Illinois Enema Bandit" live version on Lather. Guess I should have made Don Pardo another option
