The question is your Fav Drummer. Not necessarily the best drummer.

I vote for Bill Bruford who is, coincidentally, my favorite drummer and the best drummer! Tongue

From Yes to King Crimsom to UK to Genesis to Earthworks and on and on.

His touch and style are one of a kind. No other drummer comes close.

Neal Peart is probably the drummer who i find myself noticing the most when listening to the music and actually really enjoying the variety of different things he delivers.
breathing, eating, defecating, screwing, drinking, spewing, sleeping...

Bruford, Barlow, Peart and Palmer are all more or less tied for me. I'll vote for Neil though.

Look, I now need to make an official complaint. No Hillage in the guitarist poll and now no Moerlen in the drummers!

I am waiting for the flute poll without Didier Malherbe?

Of the listed inferior drummers Collins (although Barlow is good too).
Help me I'm falling!

Bruford, Collins, Mason, White, Vander...impossible to choose.
I am currently digging:

Hawkwind, Rare Bird, Gong, Tangerine Dream, Khan, Iron Butterfly, and all things canterbury and hard-psych. I also love jazz!

Please drop me a message with album suggestions.

Barrie would've gotten my vote if Bruford wasn't an option.  He was amazing with Tull (TAAB, APP, "Conundrum") and always played the most incredible live drum solos I ever saw, but he also played on some surprising albums like Robert Plant's "Pictures at Eleven" and Yngwie Malmsteen's "Rising Force".  John Bonham once called Barrie "the greatest rock drummer England ever produced"...indeed Wink

Bruford.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
