The Nektar album Down To Earth is based on a Circus theme. Not that bad of an album really. The opening song from Samla Mammas Manna's debut, Circus Apparatha is very quirky and carnival-like.

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned Unexpects In a Flesh Aquarium yet, that whole album would fit better than some of the suggestions here (21st Century Schizoid Man?).

Hello. I have on minidisc an album from a band called IL MONSTRO, which comes from Spain and is a beautiful blend of cirkus-like music and free jazz, with plenty of wind-instruments. It's not funny at all, being melancholic most of the time. Another one you should try is the first album of ALAMAINMAN VASARAT : I can't stand my friends shouting : "please, stop this dull cirkus-like music !!!" Very fine cd with influences from Klezmer and east-european music, but with heavy guitars though.

Hello... again. I have made some researches about IL MONSTRO : it's a french (not spanish) band which has recorded 3 cds. The one I think you would like is called : " Bleu nuit et les silhouettes aux chapeaux". Weird name for strange music, but the most prog-cirkus-enjoyable-jazz you can find !!!!
