Osanna is new to me but not half bad. However, I am aware of a prejudice towards English vocals, seeing as it's the only language I know. And I love the combo of hard rock guitar with minstrelsy folk sounds, since it reminds me of a host of PC RPGs I've played over the decades.

Well, I wouldn't call Osanna "random", as they were one of the most important Italian prog bands back in the Seventies - and one of the few who are still active today. In fact, they played Baja Prog last year, and made quite an impression. Of course, Tull are much better known internationally, and also quite popular with prog fans, so that very few bands would really stand a chance if pitted against them. |

I don't like voting against RPI bands. Italy is one of my fave prog countries.
But... a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. Tull gets my vote. Unique band, unique sound, some great compositions, and then there's Ian Anderson... Nuff said.

Tull are my fave band but My god is one of the weak songs on Aqualung. My god, Wind up are vocally crap and the heavy parts of Wind up are boring.
The only version of My god I don't mind is the quad version though and I like the early version of Wind up too.

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Both superb bands, hard to pick.......an English folky band against an RPI band......I just don't prefer one over the other.......

Not one of my favourite `big five' prog bands, and not one of my favourite RPI bands (I probably admire both of them more than actually really love their music).
What to do, what to do.... Osanna it is...I listen to their albums more than I do Tull.
