Topic: Marillion - Hogarth era poll Posted: January 26 2015 at 01:09 |
Tough choice? Better be (or not ) some of my favorite Hogarth era Marillion songs, if I forgot your favorite, my bad then.

I don't know, roughly, the 2nd half of the poll, I won't place a vote because of this fact, but I sure know that This Strange Engine (the 'song') moves me so much that it'll be hard to beat. h-era Marillion is still quality, modern Prog to my ears......

I would've added at least The invisible man, The King of sunset town, The Space and Living with the big lie, though.

Easter.
But since it's not there, I'll choose Seasons End.
That album is probably now my favourite from Marillion's discography, which is strange because I didn't like it when I first heard it back in the 80s.

Gaza from this list, but some excellent choices there, though Berlin is probably my actual favourite.

See I did pretty much the same thing except stopped at Neverland. Possibly one of my favorite guitar solos ever, certainly in the top ten.

I wish that "Easter", one of the most beautiful songs I know, had been included. With that qualification, Season's End is one of my favorite albums ever, so I'm going with the title track. I just now realized that Hercules made exactly the same point that I did - oops!

After purchasing Afraid Of Sunlight I have removed Marillion from my wishlist. I may have missed something but I really hated that album. In this list I like Season's End, but Holidays in Eden would have been my choice if present.

nice to see someone showing appreciation to Holidays in Eden (song and I infer the album(?)), I love that album. my next poll will include all the songs mentioned and missing from my poll.

Can't decide between Ocean Cloud and This Strange Engine. OC would be the best track overall, but all the solos in TSE (especially the last guitar solo) make it my favorite of all Marillion songs.
