This is a new supergroup formed September last year between members of Isis and Russian Circles, bands who both are featured on this site, as well the crust punk band Baptists. One of the musicians involved has written a biography of the project on his blog. Their debut album, which will be released next week, is currently streaming on MetalSucks and shows a strong influence from especially Russian Circles as well as industrial noise rock derived from early Swans.

For what it's worth I hear as much Godflesh, Killing Joke and perhaps Ministry circa Filth Pig as Swans on that record but those groups aren't on PA. I know the inclusion of post-rock on the site is somewhat controversial, but if Isis and Russian Circles are here then Sumac should be too. Then again, I don't know enough music theory or listen to this scene's output more than casually in order to be qualified to tell.

Thanks for investigating anyway, though.

Part of me says they don't belong on PA; part of me thinks they belong in Exp/Post Metal; part of me thinks they belong in Post/Math. I dunno.

I guess the Prog Metal Team can take a shot at them and if they reject them my team can evaluate them.
