I wonder how many people realize some of the ground breaking topics that were brought up on Star Trek at times, like the first interracial kiss on TV between Kirk and Uhura?

Indeed, his contributions to science fiction and humanity are legend! He is missed. Let us not forget his influence on our favorite genre:

Thank you Lear'sFool! A mix of nostalgia and joy kind of invaded me when listening again to that female soprano's voice singing such a beautiful melody (and with a beautiful back orchestra.) Really touching for me, and feeling back to those times reading 'the end credits' of one more episode while listening to it, I was just a child... , just can't remember the music at the begining of each episode. Found in Youtube also an extended version with electric violin (I guess) that I found to be even more superb, but without the beautiful soprano vocals which has a big sentimental value for me indeed.

^ watched that every week, it was on Sundays in the Bay Area. Joe Piscopo did a funny spoof of that show on SNL.

I am a Star Trek (TOS) fan. Thank you Leonard Nimoy, you will be missed. RIP.
During my studies and in my first job I worked on a speech recognition system. Our shining example was Scotty talking to the computer. Iconic: when Scotty had to use a mouse instead, in the Star Trek IV film.

RIP Spock. You once said that "death was illogical" so I know you will live on and prosper. Btw, I just realized where Spinal Tap got their look when reading micky's post. Now this is definately some weird outerspace S**t!:
