I am so excited, I only recently discovered Dark Elf, God they are so brilliant! I love them! Almost as much as Pain of Salvation Whoohaaaaaa I think they are unique too as hell and heaven too! New fav band!
3. Already Gone - Bigelf (Into the Maelstrom) This is brilliant and also although different it somehow reminds me of Syd Barret's Love song and Baby Lemonade :) xxxx Overall this band is very Beatles and DT plus Liquid Tension experiment all in one. |

I knew the band Invisible and Spinetta Jade, but never went any further. For 2 years, I never listened to this album!! (mainly because I'm a Progarchives loyal, never venturing outside of this site...) It is... Artaud!! If the first song doesn't hook you, the chill Cementario Club that comes after WILL!! And something a little metal-er, I discovered Threshold in 2014, which quickly became my favorite 'progressive metal' band ever. Ever! It was always a mystery to me why they're so unspoken of (not unknown) on this site.

Listening to Already Gone, the singer's voice bothered me at first but he hits the high-tension notes very well. And of course the instrumentation,

Somehow that rhythm guitar in my right flowing to the left makes it so much less corny, middle tune guitar is sweet too even in Spanish I have had enough of my dose of Brazilian or now Spanish romantic moozik.

Happy you like it!! Spinetta has the sweetest voice. I'm not gay, but if he asked, I wouldn't say no Though he's dead now... I'd probably be a bit freaked out if he made a move on me more than anything.

new(er) ones
Consciousness Removal Project Year Of The Goat Blues Pills Harmony 40 Watt Sun Avatarium Voyager Soen Not all of them prog, but great bands if you ask me. There are some more non-prog bands, but anyway. the old ones later because the list is much bigger (some prog, some 70s hard rock, some psyche). Edited by Cristi - March 29 2015 at 03:26 |

Too many to name... 2015 so far though (just prog):
Asia Minor, Beardfish, Clear Blue Sky, Clearlight Symphony, Dark, Eden's Children, Fields (both heavy psych bands), Forest, Grannie, Gravy Train, Hands, Haystacks Balboa, High Tide, Kaya Project, Klaatu, Kronos Quartet, Light Of Darkness, Locanda Della Fate, Lucifer's Friend, May Blitz, Pure Reason Revolution, Asher Quinn, Stark Naked, Touch (the one with David Surkamp), Ulver, Universe, and Zoo. Think that's all of them? Most of it's from that '70/'71 early heavy-prog era and I seriously suggest checking out bands like High Tide, Grannie, Clear Blue Sky, May Blitz, and Dark if you like the Atomic Rooster kind of sound (even though they're less sophisticated).

Goblin. I really like their dark and eerie music. I should also add The Mars Volta. I was surprised to see that Omar Rodriguez Lopez was part of this band since I was a fan of his solo work.
