Has to be Spectral Mornings. It's hard to stomach having Jade Warrior in a poll and not voting for them, though. That would have been my second choice. I have more personal affection for Released and Floating World. |
I know the feeling; I have an incredibly soft spot for LAD, and I always like to support the band when I can. But we have to be honest with ourselves and our votes.

Wanted to say Relayer but have a huge, weighty respect for Moonmadness. A best effort from the original line-up.

Rainbow Rising holds a special place in my heart. Can't beat that 1-2 punch of 'Stargazer' and 'A Light in the Black.'

"Heavy Horses" was a woderful album in the hard times for progressive rock. Fine melodies, magic atmosphere.

Black Sabbath's Heaven and Hell is one of my Top 10 all-time favourite albums, so it should not come as a surprise if my vote goes to it. Anyway, BSS, Relayer, Rising, Heavy Horses and Live at Carnegie Hall are right behind it.

I was just jamming to Mob Rules in the car.....a pretty decent follow up. Seems to grow on me more all the time.

I could pick from Hemispheres, Heaven And Hell or Moonmadness, three incredible records that stand above the rest for me. Okay Relayer is right there for fourth but then there's a huge drop off.

Heaven and Hell is SO good, but Relayer is a clear winner for me.

ELP's album is far ahead of anything else listed here.

About half of those are essential albums for me ..the other half not so much, but today I chose Moonmadness. I never tire of hearing that one.
