Uuh Grails fans on PA??? I thought I was the only one. I think my fave is Burning Off Impurities. To me it genuinely sounds like a contemporary band trying to channel Popol Vuh into the American heartland.

agreed! I also hear a lot of YETI era Amon Duul II in their music. I think I know so much about all bands, but it was my young wife who introduced Grails to me. along with other artists on Temporary Residence. now SPACE PIRATE RADIO show 28-19 for June 4, 2001. 2nd hour includes Sebastian Tellier, Syd Barrett, XTC, Mona Lisa, Stephanie Sante, Earth Trybe, Pulsar, Tangerine Dream, Pat Thomi, (the 3am comedy bit and ID), Stereo Mc's, Euphoria, Air, Kings of Convenience, & Komeda.

Those are from Phideaux. The green one is The Great Leap, that red one is Doomsday Afternoon. Great prog. They form a trilogy with the yet to be released Infernal, which continues the trend. Other Phideaux covers aren't scary like that. |
Not even scary........
