Music from Wakeman's Arthur album should have been used on a film about his (Arthur's) legends. I guess Journey to the Center of the Earth might work for a film very nicely too.

Tony Banks & Mike Rutherford composed the soundtrack to the 1978 film 'The Shout' starring Alan Bates and Susannah York. The central theme "From the Undertow" features on 'A Curious Feeling'.

As far as participated(as in acting) in movies the only one I can think of is Phil Collins (not counting musicians in concert films or whatever) unless we can count David Bowie.
