A real shame to lose one of the founding lights of the genre. A genuine eccentric who will be sadly missed.

RIP.

2018 has gotten off to a bad start, what with this and the news of Colin Tench.

RiP Rick Hall one of the most important individuals in recoding music industry.

Roe Erister "Rick" Hall[1] (January 31, 1932 – January 2, 2018)[2] was an American record producer, songwriter, music publisher, and musician best known as the owner and proprietor of FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. As the "Father of Muscle Shoals Music", he was influential in recording and promoting both country and soul music, and in helping develop the careers of such musicians as Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding, Duane Allman and Etta James.

Colin Tench, a well liked and much respected member of the Progarchives community: http://mrrmusic.com/colin-tench-leaves-us-with-a-minor-masterpiece/. This came as a great shock to me just now.

Very sad news for Italian prog fans. Just confirmed very recently, the dark lord of Italian prog, mr Antonio Bartoccetti of Antonius Rex and Jacula, has passed away. He suffered a heart attack some months ago, but his family have only just released this information now. Anyone who has an interest in the darker corner of Italian progressive music will likely realise the status he commanded on the fringes of Italian prog-related and gothic music.

R.I.P, Mr Bartoccetti, thank you for your beautiful dark music.

^ Also in the UK; it was either Donny Osmond or David Cassidy.. My older sister was mad on him and his beaming face looked down from all over the walls of her bedroom. I always felt he was probably a nice, genuine chap- he certainly had his share of troubles. RIP David.

Dik Mik, aka Michael Davies, from Hawkwind. The man with the audio generator. A sonic pioneer of the early 70's.

Sad news on Malcolm. although given his disease it is probably a blessing.  Dementia is tough on everyone around you.  If I am not mistaken, his brother George also passed away sometime in the past couple of weeks.

R. I. P. Malcolm Young.
AC/DC couldn't have a better songwriter or rhythm guitarist.
