If we are talking about the live versions of the songs on CttE, it would win for me. But we aren't. Yes' studio sound is just too boxy and compressed.
TaaB always felt to me like it had everything wrong with it that everyone complained about being wrong with A Passion Play.
SEBTP is the winner here. | If only they had played those songs with Bill Bruford live it would have been amazing, and perhaps I would agree. But indeed he is missing from the live versions of those songs. In any case, the ones I do like as much, or in some ways better, than the originals are the ones on Symphonic Live (except for Siberian Khatru, of course, which was not played on that album, but the Keys to Ascension version is very good too). Still, the line-up from the studio is perhpas the most perfect line-up I can think of for a prog band.

Interesting to see Yes and Genesis neck and neck now. | Actually, I would say that is predictable.

Not a chance in hell CTTE is better than TAAB. TAAB is full melodic genius. CTTE half filled with JUST OK moments

All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

| Are you kidding me... Stop being a prog snob. All these bands are considered to be great and are liked by almost all prog fans. Prog fans who like these bands are not stuck in a rut, and, in fact, most are fans of them since the 70s who have NEVER got tired of hearing prog (people who listen to the classic albums of a genre usually like other bands of that genre).

Ah, the three albums that have been in the top spot on PA since I've been a member!
Either CTTE or SEBTP for me. TAAB maybe top 10, but not top.

pffff... ZERO frickin contest.
Thick would have better reduced to a 3 minute 50 song.. oh wait.. it was...\
Selling England.. Genesis's best.. by far.. but in typical Genesis MO.. completely hit and miss. 10 minutes of a complete Bataan deathmarch that is Epping not to mention the well knock.. .crap songs....
then there is CttE... no filler.. every single note.... prog perfection. And more to the point... everyone deep down knows it is the KING of all prog albums. The entire album is part of the groups Grts Hits collection. How many many bands can really claim that feat... ummm.. like NONE.

yeah.. even CS&N's first couldn't pull that off... though one of life's GREATEST mysteries to me is why Long Time Gone didn't make it onto the Grts Hits. Might have been their single best song....
