The concert was awesome! But I think I genuflected (your word) too much because I injured my knee and was laid up for about 5 days! I honestly didn't notice her feet. but she is of course showing her age and I wondered how long it would be before her voice did too. She still hits those highs. I did write a review in the concert reviews section so head over there by all means. I gather you did not make it? I think you are in DC area right? They only toured up here unfortunately.
ps - looks like you put in your vote for ASFAS, which is mounting a bit of a mini comeback

I did of course. Heavy Horses sucks... give me early Tull. Only Glenn Cornick's hair can tops Annie's feet.
Yeah, we're here in DC. I didn't think they came here. We did catch them at Nearfest a couple of years ago. Fabulous. Though I think it was our first year attending so we were in the nose bleed and as bad as my eyes are, I didn't see Annies feet, and was too shy to ask her to take her shoes off when I talked to her later after the show.

It seems I have already voted in this poll and I don't remember when and What I chose (LOL).
Anyway, these days I enjoy 70s Renaissance more than 70s JT. Oh well...

HH is my least fave 70's Tull album by far, but it would still get my vote against any Renaissance album

Moths might possibly be the finest track Tull ever released but, after much thought, I'm going with Renaissance. There are no highlights quite as stellar as Moths, but there's nothing on it I don't like a lot.
And No Lullaby is not to my taste. |
yeah "No Lullabye", that was the one I didn't like I really enjoyed "Rover" too. If you've ever heard the Morrigan, I think they took a lot of influence from JT, especially the Heavy Horses album |
Thought everyone knew that Journeyman is one of Tull's absolute worst songs (from their pre-crap era I mean). Well, now you know.
I'm slightly sentimental/nostalgic in regards of this Tull-album - as I am with about a handful more of theirs (but only listen regularly to Benefit). At the same time rediscovering and re-evaluating Renaissance... Still its only my fifth favorite album by the latter band (just ahead of Scheherazade - as that epic of theirs still doesn't work for me and probably never will) - and whadda you know its my fifth favorite Tull too.
-blabla I think I'll give it to Annie and her boys as I've underrated them for so long and they sort of deserve it.

I may have voted on this when it was new but I don't remember how... probably Heavy Horses but I can't really vote because I love both of these to pieces, they're surely in my top 3 of either band.

wow thread revived after well over 2 years, and it seems a lot closer than I remember it. Renaissance seems to have undergone a reappraisal in the interim - perhaps the constant touring and the re-dedication to carrying on as a prog outfit has helped a lot. The DVD of the tour with the chamber orchestra should be out in a few months, and the version of "A Song for all Seasons" is fantastic - I know because I was at the show where the DVD was filmed!

I think the fact that it is pitted with Heavy Horses helps a lot (would be slam dunk if TAAB were pitted with any Renaissance album). But that way, even SFAS isn't one of the favourite Ren albums of progarchives, at least as per the ratings. So yes, the very fact that Renaissance have carried on albeit with only Annie from the classic line up may have helped.
