Topic: Echoes vs Thick as a Brick Posted: March 22 2018 at 07:57 |
Here it is! Almost change Echoes to Atom Heart Mother, but then I thought it would be easily Thick that will win, also not now as hard decision to me. I go with Brick!

I vote for Echoes against anything except for Supper's Ready. Nuff said.

Echoes is simply a long, trippy jam with an extended instrumental passage -- great for what it is, but it does not rate against a complete and cohesive composition like Thick as a Brick with clever lyrics, separate movements and diverse instrumentation.

Echoes easily. TAAB is good, but not in the same league.

Echoes
I haven't listened to TAAB in a very long time, I don't know why, I've always liked it.
Every time I get back to Echoes, more often than anything by JT these days, it's magic (and I listened to it long long time ago). The only JT album that I feel the same is Stand Up.

'Thick as a Brick' well ahead on this one! One of the great, extended prog classics. I like Echoes a lot, but it's come up against one of the big boys this time round.

I'm not a huge Tull fan, but I am a big Floyd fan. TAAB however, get's my vote here. Possibly Tull's finest hour.

And that's my humble opinion too.

I base my judgment on the number of listens. And uf you give me the choice about which one to listen to now,it would always be Echoes. It doesn’t mean that TAAB is bad, even if I prefer Aqualung
