It’s the cover    NotB has never been a favourite of mine either, although still a good listen.

Yeah, by no means a bad album, just that...well, most of their albums before and after it wipe the floor with it! I mean, `Piece of Mind' alone after it has such more memorable tracks, tighter playing, better production, etc. Glad I looked into their other albums after it after only having this one for many years.

^^ Sad to see Number of the Beast dissed like that. I tried to quote and give an opinion but captcha killed it. How did you post that with so many emoticons and it got posted, I do not know, it does not work for me.

Anyway, if you ask me, NotB was an improvement on the DiAnno era, it was a transition album, new vocalist, and it worked great. Without the success of this album, IM would not have had the successful career they had.

I also enjoy NotB these days more than the two albums that followed. Albums that are more enjoyable to me are Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son...

I try, and try, and try, and f**ken try again until my post goes through. And then I edit. It’s giving me the sh*ts by now......NotB is still very good.

Not dissing, man, just how I personally feel about their albums. But for the record, I'm someone that would happily ditch ALL the Dickenson ones to keep the first two, which had a lot more Seventies rock elements to them...and that's coming from someone who really likes the second era albums!

Also, for the love of prog, people....LEARN TO COPY AND PASTE!!

The simplest of tools will allow to you copy what you wrote, and then re-paste it in a split second in its entirety if you get caught by the dreaded Captcha. I do it EVERY SINGLE TIME, and it saves this nonsense of having to re-type what you wrote. Sure the Captcha is irritating, but there's no reason for this STILL to be an overwhelming site-breaking issue.
