Can't think of one off the top pf my head, so here's a little riddle, not my original, that I think sufficiently relevant to this topic.
Question: I am a rock group with four members. All dead one was assassinated. What am I? Answer: see bottom of post if you give up.
And with the Jimi Hendrix Experience, of Jimi Hendrix, Billy Cox, Mitch Mitchell, and Noel Redding, only Billy Cox survives. Mount Rushmore. |

Another one that surprisingly wasn't mentioned: Emerson, Lake & Powell.

I've been pondering recently, what with us losing so many good rock musicians in recent years, if there are any bands of the rock and roll era, i.e. formed post WWII, where all original members or all main members of the ensemble are now passed away. Nothing springs to my mind at the moment, but I know you lot will come up with good stuff. The only proviso being that the band must have released at least one album on a label of note, so local or amateur or semi-professional bands are not included.
