So now it's down to either his first solo album or any other album by him. I remember there being a Dream Theater versus every other prog metal band poll so this is vaguely reminiscent of that.

Olias, Third and Tubular Bells are 3 highly respected albums that just do not work for me. I tried many times to like them. Anyway, I am a fan of most of JA's solo stuff with Song of Seven probably being my fav.

Olias, the second best solo album by any Yes member.

It's all about Olias - one of the great wonders of the world. How come this album is so good and all the rest of his solo output sucks?

For many personal reasons, "Olias of Sunhillow" is my favorite record, so it naturally takes my vote above any other.

I don't think so. In the city of angels, animation and song of seven are all good albums in my opinion. That said Olias is the best that he's done or at least out of the ones I have heard.

Olias is fine I guess--but his solo work shows how much he needed Howe, Squire, Bruford, Wakeman, Moraz and White. He's no Peter Gabriel.

Animation; great songs and support band, featuring some of Jonīs best vocals ever in my opinion :)

YES, I like Jon Anderson's "Olias of Sunhillow" album best of all, although I like all of his other albums too, especially the albums he made with Vangelis.
