Hackett, Phillips, Gabriel. Not keen on the rest.

Voyage is just so magical at it's best.

Phillips - is so achingly beautiful

Gabriel is sublime in places and hints of what is to come.

I voted Collins also......Side 1 is pretty much flawless. Hackett's first is pretty much the only one of his I can listen to. Most of his albums, especially recent one bore me to tears. Cry

I voted for Tony Banks, although only by a very narrow margin over Steve Hackett.

Hackett,,,then Gabriel....the rest I find somewhat boring.
One does nothing yet nothing is left undone.

Yikes, that's harsh for Banks.

The only spot I can easily define is the last one and it's Face Value (despite being by miles Phil's best solo)

To me, Curious Feeling is really the companion album for Smallcreep's Day: they sound like they were recorded in the same place and at almost the same time. I'd put Ant's TG&TG on the same level as those two

Generally the debut solo is my fave for every member's career except that Voyage is certainly not my fave from Steve (Mornings is) and PG4 (security) is for Peter, but the debuts don't surclass the rest of the list.

I totally agree. Thumbs Up Tony banks' and Anthony Phillips' debuts are on my list of albums to buy and I already have five early albums by Steve Hackett in a box set.

this is very difficult because unlike Yes who's solo work is mediocre in general---these are the 5 most talented guys in any band--with maybe the exception the Beatles--- and all these are great  albums---between Banks and Hackett Tongue

It's a tough choice because Tony Banks', Steve Hackett's and Anthony Phillips' impressive debuts are all five-star albums for me. Smile
