^ It's weird that Wakeman didn't have a bigger impact. My guess is that he was still concentrating more on his own stuff. Six Wives was already in production (I think but haven't checked) when he joined. Howe had less inclination towards a solo career so perhaps poured more of himself into Yes. Just a theory though.

^ I do consider Wakeman's presence to be very notable on this album. From the first song it already sounds different than what came before. And then South Side of the Sky, that just wouldn't have happened without him (and that piano middle sections is one of the main hooks that kept me coming back to the album and finally getting Yes when I was still getting into prog). And Heart of the Sunrise as well couldn't have happened without Wakeman (listen to the West line-up trying to play that one live... it was just pathetic).

Both great albums, but Fragile is more polished and more progressive overall.
