It might be possible that even though you don't like Yes or Genesis, you might like the solo work of Steve Howe and Steve Hackett and Tony Banks and Rick Wakeman.  Alot of their solo work is mostly instrumental.  I will also agree with Mike Oldfield for mostly calm, instrumental music.

For something maybe a little more secure, might I suggest The Fierce and The Dead



Given that you like Pink Floyd, two bands that I would suggest checking out are RPWL and Freedom to Glide.

Try the Moody Blues.

I would recommend all of their first seven albums. My faves are To our childrens, childrens children, Seventh Sojourn and In search of the Lost Chord.

If you like spacey stuff try some Tangerine Dream, in particular Rubycon & Phaedra, although they are more onthe electronic/ambient side of things.

As for Genesis and Yes..keep trying!!

Seconding the Moody Blues and Mike Oldfield. 
If you like Hot Rats, then Waka/Jawaka, Grand Wazoo, and Sleep Dirt by Zappa are for you. 

I think you could do with more Caravan, and some Hatfield and the North as well. Chicago can be pretty relaxed.

And of course Steely Dan, because, you know, it's the Dan, hip stuff. 

Might be into some jazz fusion too? Chick Corea's 70s albums would be good (The Leprechaun, My Spanish Heart, Mad Hatter Rhapsody, these alone warrant Chick being on PA as a solo artist, Scientology notwithstanding).

And if you like Crimson King you'll probably dig the other early KC albums.

From your list I guess you'll like some Porcupine Tree, surely between "Sky Moves Sideways" and "Lightbulb Sun", possibly also what came next.

Not sure if you ever tried progressive electronic - give Tangerine Dream a go, maybe start with Rubycon or Force Majeure.

What about Mike Oldfield?

Did you try some post rock? Much is instrumental and relaxed, give a listen to Tortoise and Mogwai, Goodspeed You Black Emperor and Sigur Ros! Last two Talk Talk albums are worth trying as is Slint (if you are not put off by something a bit depressed) and Bark Psychosis.

Moonmadness by Camel has already been recommended but you could also try Mirage.

For prog folk you could have a listen to Mostly Autumn.

Also you may like The Similitude of a Dream and The Great Adventure by The Neal Morse band, which are a mixture of prog and metal.

If you like "calm" prog and you're getting into folk prog, then I would recommend trying "Gryphon". "Midnight Mushrumps" is an album you might like

Hi everyone, I'm new to prog, I'm looking for new albums and groups to listening. I have follow progarchives for a year to start a search in prog music, and now that i've an idea of my prog tastes, i decided to join the forum to ask help to theI'm writing in search of help, and I think I'm in the right place.

I grew up with blues rock, garage rock, grunge rock, hard rock and similar, later I start to love pink floyd (wish you were here, dark side of the moon and meedle are my favorite albums). here starts my journey into prg: i like space rock, and "calm" and relaxing prog rock, recently i start to like folk prog, and "fairy" music like snow goose. I don't like too much complex steps and music.

I tried to listen, but don't liked real symphonic prog, groups like gentle giants, genesis, yes etc (don't judge and kill me) I'm searching something "more simple and relaxing" to listen and principally instrumental (but not only).
