Probably not the first name that comes to mind when one thinks of prog rock epics but GG have released a good amount of tracks that qualify for this label. (If you ask me, almost every GG song could be described as 'epic' but the poll is not 'The Gentle Giant song', so we'll only consider the ones around or exceeding six minutes of playtime) I am pretty sure about my choice here, as I will Peel the Paint without hesitation!

Nothing At All - just because it’s so much fun for winding up my children.
As per a Facebook post from 28 August 2012: Daddy, what are you listening to? "Nothing At All" Yes you are, Daddy - you are listening to something. What are you listening to? "Nothing At All" Daddy, you are being silly. It's not nothing, it's something. What something is it? "Nothing At All" Ugh! (Ruby walks away in disgust...) |

This is a hard choice between Memories of Old Days and His Last Voyage. I pick Memories.

His Last Voyage. 100%
What an odd, beautiful song that flows perfectly like nothing else. Everything from the bass to the vocals is just incredible to me.

Always thought after Nothing At All, Gentle Giant didn't do epics. Guess it's what constitutes an epic (length?).

After seeing the early spread, I went with Schooldays. I love how it gets melancholy, and then rips back into the groove with the vibraphone. But Proclamation, His Last Voyage, Experience, and... all the others give it stiff competition.
