Terracid is the solo project of Australian artist Michael Donnelly, head of the Music Your Mind Will Love You collective based out of Kyogle. MYMWLY, which also doubles as an independent record label (now known as Hashram since 2010), consists of Terracid and Donnelly's flagship band 6majik9, along with his satellite collaborations Ffehro, Soarwhole and Brothers of the Occult Sisterhood, among others. The collective share and swap members for these various projects, and MYMWLY's style finds global parallels in the Finnish freak folk scene, Belgium's "funeral folk" cooperative Silvester Anfang, the British drone axis of Ashtray Navigations/Vibracathedral Orchestra/Sunroof! and the Wisconsin-based Davenport/Second Family Band and its many offshoots.

With occasional contributions from MYMWLY members, Donnelly crafts tripped out psych folk excursions paired with dreamlike electronic sprawls and dissociative percussion which, like the other bands on the label roster, carry the spirit of Amon Düül in them. Self-described as "my self-centered auto-improvisational homage to krautrock,"* Terracid's alien, lysergic sound is comparable to Avarus, Gila, the Incredible String Band, Fit & Limo, No-Neck Blues Band, Can, the Tower Recordings and Sunburned Hand of the Man.

*Interview with Michael Donnelly:

2005 Vice interview with MD:

As Terracid's discography nears twenty releases, below is a selection of what I think is best representative of his weirdness:

"Transcendent Reign Inheritor" (2004)

"The Evacuation Of Earth" (2004)

"The Palace Carries The Eggtooth As Its Crown" (2006)

"Pinnacles Upon Aesthetes In Glorious Bows" (2007)

"Dissolution" (2010)

"WHNZ:44:GMOG" (2012)

"Telepathic Satellite" (2013)

Thanks for the suggestion. Hmmm. One of those experimental free folk bands that has a whole bunch of albums.

Just a quick sampling of Dissolution does suggest this might fit Kraut.

I'll send to the team.

Cleared! For what it's worth, I'd be happy to assist in the daunting task of adding their albums to the database.
