I'm wondering how many 2 piece prog acts are out there?
I'm friends with the band "Clatter" - a husband & wife duo who make some very loud music together! They recently moved from the USA to Sweden, lucky them! They once had a video performance of Rush's "Limelight," but it is gone from YouTube. It was amazing! Amy often plays 12 string bass for songs like that. Here, dig it! |

Covet is a trio. Their bassist doesn't play in that video because that's one of Yvette Young's solo compositions (and the drummer played on it).

Thanks, cool suggestions!
It's been touched on before = Anderson & Vangelis, Fripp & Summers, Fripp & Eno etc. However, I was more interested in performing/touring acts. I've seen some amazing duets (Larry Coryell and Steve Khan in a small club with a drum machine), but a performing two-piece would seem to be very powerful if they had the chops.

off the top of my head:
Mats/Morgan (Swedish duo from the 90's) Hansson & Karlsson (Swedish duo from the late 60's) Alaska (US duo from the late 90's influenced by ELP) Also, I can't help but mention Hayward & Lodge from the Moody Blues and their one album from 1975 although I'm sure they probably had a backing band. Jade Warrior was a duo, but they often had guest artists joining them.

Chuck, I would highly recommend Midnight Circus, a two-piece prog folk duo with one studio album and single to their credit from the early seventies, on Bellaphon Records in Germany. In a nutshell, wonderful in both a lyrical and cerebral kind of way, I guess!
