The general public has long underestimated the importance of cross-stitch.  It's real importance is reflected in the following list:

1. Cross-stitch
2. Everything else

As you can see, everything either has something to do with cross-stitch, or it doesn't.  Everything revolves around the fact that it is either cross-stitch or it isn't.
