RIP to actor Dean Stockwell who passed on November 7 at age 85. Probably best known for his roles on Quantum Leap and the 2004 Battlestart Galactica reboot.

^ Terrific actor, not a Quantum Leap watcher but knew him when he was younger.

I had loved Dean Stockwell in Paris, Texas and the Lynch Dune which many dislike is unashamedly one of my big film faves. To me he is Dr. Yueh.

RIP Dean Stockwell.
Watching while most appreciating a sunset in the moment need not diminish all the glorious sunsets I have observed before. It can be much like that with music for me.

I don’t think anybody has posted the sad news that Malcolm Dome, one of the greats of rock journalism in the past few decades, has died, aged 66.

A big fan of metal, prog, and rock in general, I always enjoyed his writing.

RIP.

RIP, Graeme. Your poem that ends the album Days of Future Past will always resonate with me....

Breathe deep the gathering gloom
Watch lights fade from every room
Bedsitter people look back and lament
Another day's useless energy is spent
Impassioned lovers wrestle as one;
Lonely man cries for love and has none
New mother picks up and suckles her son
Senior citizens wish they were young
Cold-hearted orb that rules the night
Removes the colours from our sight
Red is grey and yellow white
But we decide which is right
And which is an illusion

This is sad. He did some great stuff, I saw some of it performed live.

János Kóbor (1943-2021) - the co-founder, leader and vocalist of the legendary and most successful Hungarian band, Omega, for almost 60 years (would be next year), passed away today after a short illness... He was 78.

R.I.P. Mecky... Cry

EDIT: they say it was COVID and that he wasn't vaccinated... Ouch

It's a shock, I believed János - always so energetic, always a sportsman - will live till his late 90s.

Farewell, Mecky. Cry
The world became an emptier place without you. Thank you for magical music you generously shared with people around the globe. We come and we go. Most of us leave almost nothing to others, but your voice will keep on giving people hope, love and beautiful dreams.

Who are you and who am I to say we know the reason why... (D. Gilmour)

R.I.P. to the great Jamaican bass player Robbie Shakespeare (of Sly and Robbie fame).  He has played with just about every great Jamaican reggae star plus many American and British bands also.  He was 68.

This one song by the Monkees inspired me to pick up lead guitar when I was only about 10!

The blazing solo channels Al Dimeola, it was played by jazz guitarist Louie Shelton.

RIP, Wool Hat!

^ That was a good one, touches of the Stones and Byrds.   Mike must've been horrified he had to fake-play that solo .
