Hadean for Experimental/Post-Metal

Hadean began in 2012 as the vision of drummer/lyricist Brian Fox and vocalist Zak Bowditch, with guitarist David Parnell and bassist Billy Mullen joining the lineup over the next year, leading to the release of their two-song debut EP Aphelion - Perihelion. The Ataraxia EP followed in 2014, with the quartet supplemented by guest musicians providing brass, wind and piano. Two of those players, keyboardist Dan Howard and saxophonist Andrew Sullivan, became official members of Hadean in the wake of Ataraxia, performing on the band's premiere LP, 2015's On Fading. Hadean dissolved in 2017 but reformed the following year, continuing under the direction of Mullen, Howard, Parnell and Sullivan. The group released two EPs in 2018, one a collaboration with avant-garde metal band Ehnahre and the other a teaser for a prospective future ten-song LP.

Hadean's eclecticism has been compared to Kayo Dot, Epistasis, An Isolated Mind, Thank You Scientist and Between the Buried and Me.
