As an adult i am utterly indifferent to football/ soccer, in fact most sport, but as child.. ahh. Pele was something quite mythical along with George Best and Billy Bremner. RIP Pele and your overhead 'bicycle kick'!!

RIP Pele. I remember he was really popular when I was a kid (late 70s). Of course in the US we refer to it as soccer whether the rest of the world wants to accept that or not. Tongue I mean no disrespect to those who call it football but we already have a football and it would be confusing to have two (or to call our football soccer). ;)

Anyway, yes, I knew a woman who died of cancer who was maybe in her late 50s or early 60s or so and her mother who was maybe in her 80s was there at the funeral. I believe her mother died a few years later.

There's so much more to them than "Talk To Ya Later" and "She's A Beauty." The first track from their first album is pure prog and a few others are too or at least come close. It's a shame they couldn't be on here for at least prog related (totally ridiculous imo). Anyway, Remote Control is probably one of my all time favorite albums (the very first one is great too).

RIP Rick Anderson of the Tubes (bass player). Sad news for me. I've always liked the Tubes a lot and have seen them live twice. RIP.

Yup, I had no connection to Pittsburgh but as a kid loved his running. The guy was a super nice person as well, his demeaner was always calm I felt....

As a kid in the late 70s the Steelers were on fire. I remember his name and also Mean Joe Green, Terry Bradshaw and Lynn Swann. RIP Franco.

Same here actually. I wasn't even much of a football fan but my brother, myself and the neighborhood kids used to play tackle football (no helmets or equipment) in front of the apartments we all lived in. Some of them were Steelers fans and so I would hear them mention some of them.
