I fear the next couple years will be a dreadful avalanche of loss in regards to our cherished performers.

Yes, I can already feel the spirits of the Great Rock Era roaming more frequently.  It's gonna be a party, man.

Van Conner, the Screaming Trees bassist passed away yesterday at the age of 55.  RIP Van.  May you and Mark Lanegan be reunited in a band of celestial musicians.

A flawed genius and one of my all-time favorite artists. RIP Croz.

RIP, David. I can count the amount of times I saw CSN (and sometimes Y) in concert. Always a great show.

That's too bad.  Not surprised he's the first CSN&Y-er to pass.

Not sure if it has been posted elsewhere (and this is my first time visiting the forum in a loooooong time), but I don't see mention of it here, so RIP to Yukihiro Takahashi, who died on 11 January.

Known probably best for his work with Yellow Magic Orchestra and Japan, he also worked with many other musicians (including Kiwi musician, Zaine Griff), and had a rather extensive solo career. I am not familiar with too many albums (yet) from his solo career, but based on those I have listened to so far, I will definitely be listening to more.

I just was going to post something about Rick but I'm glad to see others beat me to it. I knew Rick from some of the prog festivals (mainly Progday and Rosfest) and used to talk to him a bit. Others knew him better than I did but he was a facebook friend and I'm sorry to hear about his passing. He also hosted a radio show on Delicious Agony called the Rickter Scale. My condolences to his family and friends. RIP Rick.

I was sad to see that Rick had died this morning, been thinking about him all week.  What a class act he was.  And dignified to the end.  RIP Rick.

Not a celebrity, but a well-known and beloved figure in the US prog community, Rick Dashiell - a lovely guy, and one of the ProgDay regulars - passed away today. Having been away from Facebook for over a year, I had no idea his condition had deteriorated so badly. As much as I dislike social media, I wish I had been around to say goodbye to him. RIP Rick, my friend Broken Heart.
