Topic: Jean luc ponty Posted: January 08 2005 at 10:46 |
What about him? Isn't he consider prog? I have some of his albums, and I like them, but neither in the forum nor in the archives there's nothing about JLP.

I rarely vote to include jazz oriented artists to ProgArchives, but in this case I believe Jean Luc Ponty really deserves it, Aurora is a masterpiece of Progressive Rock as most of his albums (except the infamous Tchokola).
The guy clearly played in the border of fusion and Symphonic Progressive, really talented and I believe progressive.
Agree with you Mirco.

This is not a criticism, merely a comment: I have seen on the archives tons of bands that i never heard before. Maybe I have knowlegde of a 5-10% of all the bands listed. and the archives have space for bands like Styx, whose musical merits are, in my point of view, very weak. So, why cannot be a little spot for a talented artist like Ponty?

Well, so the other thread (and my posts I had forgotten) and the result was 86.67% in favour of including JLP and only 13.33% against his inclusion.
But Max has the last word.
