Back in 1981 Mute records issued 'Some Bizzare Album' which included very early Depeche Mode and Soft Cell tracks. All synth driven, some very poppy, others not so.

Another vinyl album I wish I had kept, although I now own the CD. Smile

^ That's quite an eclectic line-up of Synth-Pop. It's so bizarre they spelt it with two Z's and only one R. Smile

NEIL ARTHUR       The one and only solo album by Neil Arthur who's created so many albums with Blancmange that it's now become a huge trifle! Tongue

Synth-Pop Britannia

THE ASSOCIATES      Scottish band The Associates went through a couple of name changes - including The Ascorbic Ones & Mental Torture - before arriving at The Associates. Their lead vocalist Billy Mackenzie (1957-1997) has one of the most distinctive high tenor voices in Synth-Pop, sounding like Scotland's answer to Russell Mael of Sparks. Smile

No idea what Party Fears Two is all about, but who cares, and have you ever seen a cooler-looking keyboard player? - apart from Professor Brian Cox of D-Ream, obviously. Tongue

Would you consider 'The Lotus Eaters' as an addition to the list Paul?

'The First Picture Of You' - a lovely single, although I have never seen "flowers screaming their joy".

The First Picture Of You

I still have the single, bought in Woolworth's back in 1983! Smile

^ Yes, I like a bit of Jangle Pop to brighten up a dull day, so The Lotus Eaters are now added to the list. Thumbs Up

The Associates - Heart of Glass - A non-album single and Blondie classic with Billy Mackenzie sporting a beret in a cool Che Guevara kind of way and not in a Frank Spencer way. Ooh Betty. Smile

B-MOVIE     Who remembers B-Movie? Ermm Not an A-List band but a B-Movie band from Mansfield in Nottinghamshire who were featured on the first Some Bizzare Album compilation in 1981.

B-Movie back then in 1985...

...And B-Movie now in 2016...
