Hi Progarchives people! I would like to add a new band to the site, it is the French duo Fulguromatic, whose first album has just been released for pre-order via the aMÁRXE label. I propose it for "Canterbury Scenes" although I understand that it could also be "Eclectic Prog". ![]() BIOGRAPHY: Fulguromatic is a fascinating French duo whose music moves between Canterbury sounds and jazz-rock incorporating a light and somewhat mischievous touch from the planet Zeuhl, resulting in tremendously addictive. Captivating, both musically and timbrally, thanks to the use of invented instruments. Their first album is published by the label áMARXE and is a unique and fresh album for the progressive scene, and an almost magical experience from the first sound to the last. ARTIST NAME "Fulguromatic" ALBUM NAME: "Fulguromatic" YEAR: "2025" ![]() All tracks performed, written, composed and mixed by Fulguromatic. Paul Cossé : Fender Rhodes, automated flute, bottle flute, voices, xylophone, piano, percussions, banjoline Lancelot Rio : Drums, automated bass synth, voices, xylophone, piano, synth, bird call, percussions, guitars VinylMaster Cut: Centraldubs Artwork: Retro.chimie Tracklist: 1. The Sigh of a Whittled Grove (6:31) 2. The Unconceivable Curse of Atahualpa (5:19) 3. Hidden Realm (1:54) 4. Top 5 des citations d'Albert Einstein (6:58) 5. Nutriscore Z (6:44) 6. Lil' Appeau (3:44) 7. An odd Bird's Bill (4:29) 8. Grmmf (7:50) CD/Digital - áMARXE- 0325CD (April 4st 2025, Spain) LP - áMARXE / En Attendant Records / Baboon Fish Label / L'étourneur (April 4st 2025, Spain) LINKS: Greetings from Spain, Javier Miranda |

Thanks for the suggestion :) I'll add them to our chart once the album is released.

It doesn't look to me as though this suggestion ever got passed to a team. I can't check on Awesome Prog at the moment because the website is playing up. I'm just getting a load of 'Failed to fetch' errors, so I can't see what - if any - history there is on there for this band.
However, a search on the PA forums for 'Fulguromatic' in the message body doesn't reveal anything in any of the genre team threads, so it seems that none of them are evaluating the band as yet. Once I'm able to confirm this via Awesome Prog, I'll drop a note in the Eclectic Team thread to start things off, since I think there is quite a bit more going on in this album in addition to its Canterbury Scene elements. Edit: The Awesome Prog website is working OK again now, and Fulguromatic haven't been added to any genre team's chart, so I'll drop a note now in the Eclectic Team thread, and we'll see where it leads. I don't know where lays the border between Canterbury and Zeuhl. It has elements of both. Maybe eclectic is the best choice

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution
