Born in 1979, Fabio Orsi is an Italian electronic composer and producer from Carosino who has been steadily releasing music since 2004. Once again based in Puglia after nearly a decade living in Berlin, Germany, Orsi's musical journey began under the alias FAB, issuing a handful of CDR and digital releases for netlabels before making his "debut" under his given name with 2005's Osci.

Wielding effected guitar and synthesizers, Orsi's brand of drone ambient draws from folktronica and krautrock, its mood crepuscular, occasionally sentimental and usually downcast, all seamlessly interspersed with field recordings (not unlike the work of Lawrence English, Chihei Hatakeyama and fellow PA artist Matteo Uggeri). Orsi offered an idiosyncratic take on space rock with 2011's Stand Before Me, Oh My Soul, his most popular work (relatively speaking), featuring processed drum loops provided by Aidan Baker's brother Rich. A distinct Berlin School influence has steadily crept into Orsi's style from the 2010s onwards, and he has also cited American early blues music and Texan ethnomusicologist Alan Lomax as important inspirations.

Within his sprawling discography of dozens of full-lengths and EPs (on labels like A Silent Place, Boring Machines, Backwards and Silentes), Orsi has released collaborative or split albums with avant-folk artists Gianluca Becuzzi and the North Sea, ambient post-rock project Seaworthy and krautrock acts Mamuthones, My Cat Is an Alien and Valerio Cosi.
