This band definitely belongs here.

I'm not sure about the JR/F subgenre, but feel free to forward them to other teams.

My biography:

GOSIER is a progressive rock band from Trois-Rivières, Québec, officially formed in 2022. The project was initiated by singer-songwriter Antoine Brunet, who had been writing and performing solo since 2012. The current lineup includes Antoine Brunet (vocals, guitar), Antoine Monteiro (keyboards, production), Jérémie Dufresne Diamond (bass), Mathieu Gélinas (drums), and Éliane Monteiro (vocals).

Their music combines progressive rock with elements of jazz, funk, punk, folk, and polka, anchored by expressive lyrics in French. Their sound often explores shifting dynamics, thematic contrasts, and non-linear song structures.

The band first released a live album, Radio Gosier (Live à L'Ultime Édition) XI, on December 4, 2022, capturing their early raw energy. In October 2024, they followed with a studio debut: the self-titled mini-album Gosier, a concept EP reflecting themes such as identity, transformation, rebellion, and mental health.

The opening track, "Déficit", was released as a radio single in early 2025. It tackles the experience of living with ADHD through rapid tonal shifts, soundscapes including schoolyards and buses, and a poetic narrative voice. According to Brunet, the song is an attempt to make listeners "feel what it's like to live with this condition, this gift."

Gosier has performed widely in Québec since its inception, including multiple appearances at FestiVoix in Trois-Rivières. The group maintains loose creative ties with the genre-fusing project Les Tony Martini, with whom they share producer/keyboardist Antoine Monteiro. While Martin Beaudry, co-founder of Les Tony Martini, contributed mixing work on the debut album, he is not a performing member of Gosier.

Thanks a lot!

P.S. I would be glad to add the albums myself, once the band's page is created.

Listening now, and great stuff indeed! I'd personally send this to the Eclectic Team in the first instance, since I'm hearing elements of several other subgenres in this music as well as the definite jazz rock feel to it.

The Bandcamp profile photo showing the four male members of the band tucking in to a meal and a swig of lager in somebody's kitchen may not be an ideal band photo to use on their page, but some other photos that could be used are available on Facebook, though only one of them includes Éliane Monteiro (I think she is the one who normally takes the photos).

Despite being well known in Québec and its environs, they don't seem to be particularly well-known in the wider World. I searched Google for "Gosier album by GOSIER band review" and the AI generated reply I got was:

"The "Gosier" album by the band GOSIER does not appear to exist. The search results primarily focus on the band Gurriers and their debut album "Come and See," which has received positive reviews for its post-punk sound and exploration of modern anxieties. Other results mention related musical styles like gwoka and bands with similar sounds, but nothing specifically about a "Gosier" album by a band named GOSIER."

It seems this new-fangled tech ain't quite what it's cut out to be lol!

Thanks for your input, David.

This photo from Facebook would be perfect.

Or maybe we could search for some live action stuff? There's a lot to choose from on Facebook.

You're obviously right about them not being known. And LES TONY MARTINI are even less well known.

So, have you contacted the Eclectic team?

^ Not yet, Julien. I thought I'd wait for JR/F's response first, since they may decide to evaluate the band anyway. If no response here (or any mention in the JR/F Team thread) by tomorrow night (UK time), I'll drop a link to the topic in the Eclectic Team thread to set things in motion. JR/F are usually pretty quick at picking up their suggestions though - with both Mira and Louis usually keeping their eyes on this section of the forum.

Yeah, that's the photo I'd use for their profile pic too. It's the only one I could see which also has Éliane in the frame.
