Hi ProgArchive,
thanks for the great work! We would appreciate if you could add our Band to your pages. Lukas Tower Band - Eclectic Prog from Munich, Germany LTB was founded in 1984 and went through many lineup changes during its 40 year existence, band leader and guitar player Wolfgang Fastenmeier being the only constant. The Band's name is derived from the location of its first practice room in a tower of Munich's St. Lukas church. The music is routed in classic symphonic progressive rock but had a strong influence from folk and jazz music. The folk influence is less evident in recent years. LTB has recorded and released 4 albums in the last 20 years all self-published. Our latest album was released end of 2024 and is called "A Prophecy". This band was suggested for inclusion in Prog Folk back in November 2011, before you were a member, and when there were only two albums to evaluate. I listened to the few samples that were available at the time and thought they might stand a pretty good chance if more material of a similar nature could be found. However they weren't accepted by the Prog Folk Team (with one member of the two which made up the team at that time deciding they weren't really Prog Folk, and the other not making any input to the discussion).
I'm listening to 'A Prophecy' now, and this music definitely belongs on PA, with Eclectic Prog being a good place to start things off, since I'm hearing a mixture folk, psych and jazz elements in it. If nobody from that team picks this up by tomorrow night, I'll forward the suggestion to them via their team thread. ![]() Lukas Tower Band on Awesome Prog. I'll add all the albums and listening links to that site in due course. |
