Hey everyone—

I’m Shane Lents, an independent composer working on a multi-album progressive concept series called Inhumanity’s Black Flame. This project is a deep, thematic descent into one of the darkest chapters in human history: the Holocaust. But rather than observe from a distance, the music tells the story from inside the horror—through the lens of those who lived it.

This isn’t background listening. It’s doom-laced symphonic rock. Grief-soaked orchestration. Raw soundscapes designed to remember, lament, and bear witness.

The first three tracks from Act I: 1941 – The Isolation Begins are now live:

🔹 The Unraveling – Slow erosion of community. Dissonant strings, tension.
🔹 Whispers of Fear – Blues rock textures, creeping dread.
🔹 Marked – Funeral doom meets orchestral mourning.

This is my attempt to combine progressive metal structure, symphonic narrative, and historical weight into something that refuses to look away. It’s not clean. It’s not polished. It’s not “safe.” But it’s real.

I’m a survivor of trauma myself, and I believe music should say something. This is my offering—not to preach, but to remember the silenced and challenge the comfortable. The entire album is avaliable on all streaming platforms.

Would love to hear feedback, especially from those who’ve walked the concept album path. Structure, movement, pacing—open to all thoughts.

Thanks for your time,
—Shane
