And also Chuck Mangione R.I.P.

Wow. Another one. Regardless of what anyone thinks, Chuck Mangione crafted one of the most instantly recognizable melodies with that one big hit. RIP.

I wasn't sure that I had ever heard the song before, so I gave it a listen. I definitely recognized the melody, but I don't think that I had ever heard the song before. However, the single version came on after that, and I have definitely heard the single version before. I don't know that I ever knew what the song was called or who played it, but it is definitely recognizable.

Chuck Mangione - pride of Rochester, NY. Progheads, get ahold of a copy of CM's 1972 Alive! LP so you can have that "Whaoah, THAT is Chuck Mangione?!?" moment. Chuck psychedelicizes some blues tunes and a few of his originals with the help of his longtime collaborator Gerry Niewood on saxes and flute, the great Steve Gadd on drums and a young Tony Levin on bass. Dig thru the bins for this one - best $4 you'll ever spend.

I like to feel the suspense when you're certain you know I am there.....
