I'm thrilled by this news!

Spinal Tap movie trailer

As the former lead guitarist of the Tulsa, Oklahoma USA Spinal Tap "tribute band" (actually, it was more of a "poke in the eye" band) Casual Crowbar, I can't wait to see these old codgers again!

Rob Reiner was interviewed yesterday. He gives some backstory on what's up with the Tap guys that leads up to the movie. Needless to say, this is comedy gold.

^

I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I weren't so heavily sedated.

I was delighted to see the Mighty Tap, live and in concert, at the historic Rialto Square Theater in Joliet, Illinois USA! It was their "Break Like the Wind" tour!

Rick Parnell was the drummer on that tour, you may know him from Atomic Rooster etc. Ric Parnell

I'm not kidding, it was a FANTASTIC show! For a bunch of comedians, they sure had their musical chops down!

MANY prog musicians have referred to "Spinal Tap" as a reflection of their own experiences, Rick Wakeman's recollection is one of my favorites!

I caught the '92 tour as well. Appropriately, we were so baked we barely found the venue in time. I do believe I will leave my Tap memories in tact in that moment and pass on this one.

^ Both times I saw Tap the Thamesmen opened for them...who were of course McKean, Guest, and Shearer.   A profound musical experience.
