OK, how about the King Crimson-related project "Beat?"
They certainly have chops and musical talent! But....is it NEW? Beat - in concert Edited by cstack3 - 12 hours 55 minutes ago at 00:10 |

Virgil Donati is, in my opinion, pushing boundaries. Here is a track from his 2019 album "Ruination." Also, his 2013 release "In This Life" is still musically ahead of its time.

Can't wait to see the blu-ray when it's released next month. |

The Panzerballett track is big fun.
I find Heilung pretty unique and innovative. They are around for 10 years or so now though, and don't have prog credentials. But they're progressive. ![]() Edited by Lewian - 4 hours 9 minutes ago at 08:56 |

I make typos so you see I'm not a machine, but I may be a machine pretending to not be a machine.

No question! I used to ponder about what would happen if former band-members would form King Crimson satellite projects, there have been a few attempts (Stick Men, 21st Century Schizoid Band, even League of Craft Guitarists and CA Guitar Trio), and this is the closest I've seen! I think this is MUCH more vital than what Yes is doing (touring with "Fragile"). I just don't have the interest to pay to go see Steve Howe's tribute band. Gong recently came to Tucson, I didn't see them but am sorry I didn't! I did see them twice in two nights in Chicago (March 9 & 10, 1996), and guitarist Steffe Sharpstrings did a GREAT job of filling in for Steve Hillage AND High T Moonweed! His solo space-rock is highly recommended! I consider it quite new and refreshing! Steffe Sharpstrings |

Not saying that it's groundbreaking but I like this one bes amongst those presented early in this thread. It reminds me of Thelen's Fractal works https://stephanthelen.bandcamp.com/album/fractal-sextet
I was for their inclusion, but voted out. . Edited by Sean Trane - 17 minutes ago at 12:48 |

It would be cool if Beat would continue and write their own music.

I knew that rang a bell (not surprised, but I didn't realize or made the link) . Edited by Sean Trane - 3 minutes ago at 13:02 |
