I'm reminded of an old Frank Skinner joke...

Q. Do you know Vanessa-Mae?

A. No, but thanks for the tip!

I had an idea for a series of polls but thought it might be more Paul's territory than mine - a *Big Six series (studio albums only, but see below) with Big Six 1st album, Big Six 2nd album... probably up to at least Big Six 14th Album (seeing as My beloved Pink Floyd have released 14 studio albums) - that might spark some interesting conversations.

[ELP's 'Pictures at an Exhibition' could be included as there is no equivalent studio release.]

Over to you Paul!

*as is generally accepted

Thanks for the suggestion, although I may have already done something similar to that in the distant past, only it was more like a "Big 25" instead of a "Big 6", but it's been awhile now, so I may Do It Again, just like Steely Dan.

Well Big 6 would be much tighter than Big 25 and might spark more robust discussions.

I had in mind the recent Ultimate Progressive Rock Top 50 with two sets of polls running side by side and with 25 top prog artists in each poll.

I have a feeling that a "Big Six" prog poll has been done before (although not by me), but if you want to put a series of polls together, than I'd be happy to take part.

At least VDGG, Gentle Giant and Gong are all included in the Ultimate Progressive Rock Top 50.
