Maybe you want to edit the title so that it's clear what the thread is about?

Anyway, as some know around here I'm a big fan of much of the Can members solo works. Holger Czukay has some absolutely outstanding albums (with Canaxis 5 and Movies groundbreaking when it comes to non-digital sampling), Irmin Schmidt has a great discography, Jaki Liebezeit has his hand in a lot of good music, some with his name on it (if not totally solo), Damo Suzuki has done nice improvised stuff, and even the Michael Karoli solo album is interesting.

Of course there are more bands that qualify, but let's see what others come up with.
I make typos so you see I'm not a machine, but I may be a machine pretending to not be a machine.

Tangerine Dream — I own numerous solo albums by Edgar Froese, Johannes Schmoelling, Peter Baumann and Michael Hoenig (though he was only a touring member, briefly) that I classify as indispensable. Then there are solo albums by Ulrich Schnauss, Christopher Franke, Ralf Wadeful, Steve Jolliffe, Conrad Schnitzler, and even Jerome Froese that are quite good.
