Which of our feathered friends do you best fancy?

The candidates, for those unfamiliar (and/or un-Finnish):

Avocet

haikara

Type: noun;
  • stork
     { noun }
    mythical bringer of babies
    1|jokin haikaralintujen lahkoon ''Ciconiiformes'' kuuluva lintu
  • (colloquial) stork (any wading bird of the Ciconiidae family in order Cicooniformes)
    heron (any wading bird of the Ardeidae family in order Ciconiiformes)

harakka

IPA: [ˈhɑrɑkːɑ]; Type: noun;
  • magpie
     { noun }
    bird of genus Pica
    Pica pica
Equally fond of all things aviary? Why not throw in a vote for Trace's catch-all album!

Trace's Birds is too antiseptic and Baroqued for me.

Pohjola.

Pohjala is great, but Trace is absolutely superb.

Pekka P for me
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive

The PP is one of my favourite albums of all time, beating the also great Haikara into second place quite easily.

The Trace album is hard to beat, especially that 20 minute epic on side B! I really enjoy that little vocal segment in it that goes like:

Ze brightest sounds while listening in the morning
Are birds that sing their prayers to the sky
Your soul awakes with every newborn morning
To praise in joy the thousandth reason why
There in your face to touch the many wonders
I find a trace of sadness passing by
Those changing years like stars have shown their beauty
And each of us has learnt to laugh and cry

Need a love to feel alive and good
It's only love that alone can make me good
Like a birdsong in the early morning wood
Need a love to feel so good and alive

EDIT:
Also, Birds by Trace is the only album on which Ian Mosley's drums don't sound like "1% drum and 99% reverb". :P
