First of all: relax and turn your imagination on. All comments to the bands are given from the poll's main character imaginary point of view

I vote for IQ

I'd put Agitation Free: Georgie would go angry at its oriental sound

I'd say Pain of Salvation for Scarsick, I read some of the lyrics for it and they were pretty offensive toward America.

I'd say any music more complex than the barney song is probably way beyond georgie's grasp, therefore he'd probably just hate and condemn it like everything else he doesn't understand.

Then again, he must just take the "greenhouse effect" stance, and just deny its existence alltogether.

"Es ist übrigens unmöglich, eine Meinung zu haben, ohne dass es unerfreuliche Überschneidungen gibt. Die Grünen sind für den deutschen Wald, die NPD ebenfalls."

If GB could understand higher lyrical concepts, he would hate Robert Wyatt and the Art Bears, that's for sure!

Fish-era Marillion, because there are too many difficult words in the lyrics.

IQ, because he has a bad association to the band's name. As in "Dubbya, your IQ is sooo low!"

hurrah, another bush-bashing campaign... not that i mind at all ...

first of all: www.dubyaspeak.com – ranging from the hilarous to downright scary -

my choice – all of wilson's work – and probably the entire genre as it
represents everything that present US-american culture is NOT about.
progressive rock and rural tranquility don't match. true or false?

Don't forget that he is a politician, and wants to appeal to a large base. He's probably not even aware of a genre called Progressive Rock. However, let's say he had to make a comment about it. His advisors would probably give him some sort of orientation.

I could see it going something like this, (imagine him speaking, using all of his gestures and mannerisms) "I like you Progressive Rockers. You like smart music. I listened to prog myself (prog, right?). I loved Genesis. Remember that video with the puppets? That was great! I'm just not sure about Queen. Why do a bunch of guys call themselves that? They also have a song called 'Mustafa,' and that makes me nervous."

Pain of Salvation is quite clear in their opinion on America (very obvious on Scarsick).
Too bad Bush will never hear it and even if he did he probably wouldn't understand it...
