Why? It's what RUSH is- a band with a HUGE RANGE.- I love ALL their stuff. |
Yeah, I feel that way too. I was trying to pick, but I like all the
different periods and the way their sound has changed directions, kept
'em interesting. But the general concensus seems to be from 2112-Moving
Pictures, and I really can't argue with that, though.

To clarify that, I just think 2112- Moving Pictures was the best Rush period.

And they could still be a great band, if they stopped playing awful music.

Fly By Night - Signals, I love Rush, and nothing they've put out has been that bad.

If they didn't put out Hold Your Fire (which, while not bad, was disappointing), then I'd agree 100%. Let's say I agree 95%.

And you're missing out on some very proggy stuff on CoS.

It's not that I dislike it, I can enjoy certain songs, but overall I feel it was uninspired (kinda like Test For Echo).

It was pretty good, rather drab audio quality, though. As you said, a lot of fresh ideas. I hope the new one is in the same vein as it (only with a nice 10-15 minute epic about something spacey that has a Permanent Waves feel to it).
