My favourite PT release is Coma Divine, which gives an indication of what I’m likely to vote for here.
In fact my two favourite PT studio albums are Sky and Downstair, from their entire discography. 1. The Sky Moves Sideways 2. Up the Downstair (The Incident) (In Absentia) 3. Signify (Fear of a Blank Planet) (Deadwing) 4. On the Sunday of Life 5= Stupid Dream 5= Lightbulb Sun I’m not going to include eps because that just gets confusing. Or Metanoia, for that matter, which I like a lot. Edited by nick_h_nz - April 15 2021 at 03:09 |

Actually, I've got to get those two albums myself (at least from the ones I'm missing), plus, I was interested in an outakes compilation called recordings, which sounded like a very nice release. |

I have most of these but don't play them very often, which is a mistake. They are filled to the brim with astonishing music. I listened a bit around to remind me what is on what, and it's really really hard to pick just one of them. Will go with The Sky Moves Sideways, but apart from the first one it's really a five-way tie.

In order: Stupid Dream, Lightbulb Sun, Signify, although all have their merits.
Once I hear "Baby Dream In Cellophane", that's it, it's in my head for days. |

Signify, but probably because it was the first one I ever heard and it stuck with me.

Signify is the best album but Up The Downstair is my favourite. Especially once he completed the thing... |

The Sky Moves Sideways today but could just as well have voted for Up The Downstair or Signify. I love this era of the band...especially Metanoia
