Huge fan of Abacab, so I went for it.
Camel's The Single Factor is the only one I don't have. Pretty bad? Is it worse than Stationary Traveller? E |

I love Yes, I love "90125", but as far as I'm concerned "Pig Generator" is a poor, very poor attempt to copy triumph of "90125"...

What the hell is Porcupine Tree doing here? I didn't know that album was hated and considered among the level of Big Generator... I think, if you listen to it more than once, if you give it some time, it reveals the genius and future greatness of SW in a big way. I think it's a very good albu,, I would rate it with 3.5 stars, which would give me 4. Even the little ridiculous school-era songs are very pleasant to hear once you understand the mind behind them. And it has "radioactive toy", the antecedent of the future PT sound. I don't think this album has nopthing to do with the rest. ABACAB would be my second pick, but that one I can see why it's hated. I gave it 3-starts, it's not that bad for me. Now if you would've included Invisible Touch....

OKAY PEOPLE!
I DO NOT FEEL THAT THESE ALBUMS ARE ON THE SAME LEVEL AS EACH OTHER!
(and i never said that)
This poll is made up of albums that the general public feel are the worst of the bands catalogue. I didnt nessecarily go with the PA ratings either.
Okay?

Since when was On The Sunday of Life a hated album?
I love it to death! Radioactive Toy, Nine Cats, It Will Rain For A Million Years, The Nostalgia Factory, And The Swallows Dance Above The Sun...
Those are among my favorite PT tracks of all time. Sure the album has its weak spots, but in no way do I think it is "hated".

Why dont I clarify again?
On The Sunday of Life is here because most of the PT fans that only know In Absentia and Deadwing and such do not appreciate Wilson's early experiments. I know its not everyone, especially the open minded music lovers on this site, but it is most of the general population

I cant really vote here because i have less than half of these i think. But ima hafta throw in my two cents on underwraps since it came up. I think under wraps has some very excellent composition on it. some very beautifuyl things there. They are largly hidden however by synth and production overzealousness. IF ya listen to the music a bit more than you listen to the instrumentation its a fine album.

Absolutely no contest here - On The Sunday Of Life is my favourite PT album. In fact, it could be in my all time top ten albums!
A Momentary Lapse Of Reason is a distant second.

My vote goes for A.
Fresh, complex, witty, original, atypical. Full of synths, but not drowned in synthpop music. A great piece. |
