I would remove any & all bands that less than 100 people in the whole world have actually heard & listened to.
WHoa, there goes a whack of obscure crap At least with, say ,Triumph & Alan Parsons Project, there more than a few folks that can discuss whether they're great / good/ bad / horrendous because they've actually heard them. Edited by pantacruelgruel - March 24 2007 at 23:59 |

Personally, I wouldn't remove anything, or almost anything (I have very serious doubts about Triumph, for instance, but I'm not one to start whining about bands whose presence I don't agree with). What I would do, instead of removing bands, would be to give the whole category of Prog-Related a different, more consistent direction: that is, create two subcategories, one for bands who have influenced some subgenre of Prog (as in the case of Iron Maiden for Prog-Metal), another for bands who were directly influenced by Prog (like Led Zeppelin or Muse). Then, I'd stop the influx of unknown or nearly unknown bands into the category - if an obscure band submitted to a team for evaluation is not prog enough for addition to the database, it should simply NOT be added.
Of course, my two eurocents as always.... |

the "prog related" catagory needs to either begin making sense, or just remove everyone in it :)

No feckin' way. Whether you like it or not, their 70's albums are prog. Their 80's albums are pop-rock (sounds familiar? Genesis anyone?) even in the 80's they were quite eclectic (and provocative!), experimenting with different styles and different forms of folk music of former Yugoslav republics. Their Shepherd's rock tag, along with wide popularity and the fact they influenced 1000s of empty headed imitators not related to prog or common sense is simply irrelevant.
