I freakin' love Mars Volta. I love the first two albums, but if they'd continued to just put reiterations of those, than I probably would have become bored. Instead, they're evolution is one of the most fascinating things that has happened to 00s music. The newest album got constant rotation from me all Summer, and continues to get frequent play. What a brilliant new step. Strip down their cacophany and bedlam sound to its rawest bare essentials, so we can hear the fundamental art in their songs. Turns out the songs can stand on their own. For mature listeners only.
I've been a massive music nut since 1977, and its bands as innovative and individual as Mars Volta, that make me feel great that music is continuing to evolve positively. I feel sorry for anyone who doesn't "get" what these guys are accomplishing.

Or the Mars Volta for firing him. It's purposely ambigous.

^ Actually, many people (including myself and Dan from The Tea Club) didn't like him much at all, so frankly I think this is a good decision musically.

That doesn't really sway my opinion.

When did I ever say it should? I'm just throwing mine in there, too. Is that allowed?

Gotta be watchin' those vibes, now. Mine in particular tend to confuse people more often than not.

I think it's the hypnotizing avatar that does it.

Bring Back Jon Theodore or someone all their best albums were made with Jon Theodore on drums though, they don't seem to quite have the same energetic vibe they used to, though Octahedron's turn for the mellow was nice

There's nothing on Wikipedia about this, only on the bottom field he's listed as an ex member but nowhere else. Still waiting for some reliable information.
Well, the next gig is next weekend, we'll see then...

I wouldn't say that I hated him, but I like theo much better. I wish they will get him back.

If Theodore returned, we'd have the old Volta back I think. I'd love that.

Really upset about this - gutted. I loved Thomas Pridgen - I cannot believe this - I'm disgusted - what are they playing at? Dumb-heads Yeh - why does everybody like a pack of dogs waiting to strike always have to get at MV anyone ever mentions them - that or go on about Deloused being great and all the rest being rubbish - you're all nuts - all their albums are bloomin' superb. Come on - the guy asked a simple question - has Pridgen been sacked? Yeh - we have the answer now - and as I said above I'm stupifyingly gutted
